Santa Fe schoolchildren step up to the plate!
31 DECEMBER 2007, SANTA FE, NM. Mary Harbour, president of ARTsmart, which organizes and produces the annual ARTfeast weekend fundraiser with the Santa Fe Gallery Association, announced the winners of the annual “I Made It!” plate and placemat project conducted among fifth and sixth grade students in the Santa Fe Public Schools.
“This was the most difficult year for selecting the images to be included in the plate project, as well as identifying the winners,” says Harbour. “Since we began the project six years ago, the art teachers have become increasingly inventive in their assignments and the students are competing to create the most exciting images.”
Proceeds from the 2007 ARTfeast donated to Santa Fe Public Schools
10 NOVEMBER 2007. SANTA FE, NM. ARTsmart, which organizes and produces the annual ARTfeast weekend fundraiser with the Santa Fe Gallery Association, announces that $90,000 will be donated to the Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) on Wednesday, November 14, 2007.
“We are extremely pleased to increase our annual donation by ten thousand dollars over our 2006 donation,” said Mary Harbour, president of the ARTsmart Board of Directors, adding that “the total ARTsmart donation during the past decade is $476,278.”
Presentation of the check to SFPS Superintendent Leslie Carpenter takes place at 5:00 pm in the City Council Chambers of Santa Fe City Hall at 200 Lincoln Avenue. The public is welcome to attend.

The designation recognizes artists of standing in the community whose artwork and activities encourage young people to explore their creativity.

Now in its 11th season, ARTfeast is heralded as one of the most inspired reasons for a weekend getaway. Held February 21-24, 2008, this extravaganza features the City Different’s world-class chefs and restaurants, an international array of vintners, designer fashions and unique homes, along with nationally and regionally prominent artists represented by members of the Santa Fe Gallery Association.
